As a courtesy to our SHPOA Members, we’re bringing you a summary of each Stone Harbor Work Session and Council Meeting. Intended as summaries, these intentionally don’t have a lot of details and are not a substitute for the official Borough minutes.
Work Session

CRS update
Borough officials discussed continuing efforts to improve the Borough’s Community Rating System score, which could reduce the cost of flood insurance. The next step in the process is a visit from the Federal Emergency Management Agency and then scheduling a modification visit. Both should be completed this year.

Council discussed the parking situation. The net from the Park Mobile system in 2023 was $343,711. The all-in cost of kiosks, including 29 stations, software, fees labor, and policing costs come to $600,000. No changes were made to the current ParkMobile system.

Council Meeting
The Council approved an ordinance amending Chapter 560, which includes all the General Zoning
Ordinances of the Borough.
Resolutions voted included extending a part-time firefighter, adding two Special Law Enforcement Officers, and awarding summer contracts, camp requests, long-term contracts, and a resolution that all future employment relationship discussions be closed to the public.
Farmers’ Market
Council also approved the Farmer’s Market on Sundays beginning May 26 following discussion of possibly expanding the market with more vendors and at a new location, perhaps 94th Street and 2nd Avenue. These discussions are likely to continue.
