Playing and Having Fun
At its April 20, 2021 meeting, Borough Council approved the upcoming Sidewalk Sale which is scheduled between 10 am to 7:00 pm from Friday, April 30 through Sunday, May 2.

And, that’s not all. Members discussed several other upcoming events including:
• The Chamber of Commerce Turtle Trot, which is set for Sunday, May 30. Runners interested in the 5-K and those who want to join the 2-mile walk should check this link: https://raceroster.com/events/2021/47664/stone-harbor-turtle-trot-5k. Strategies for staggering the starts for the possibly 500 runners and for compliance with Covid regulations are set to be in place.
• On Saturday, May 29, the Borough plans to open the beach and hold a Color Fun Run on the beach that day as well.
• The Farmer’s Market is scheduled to open at 8am Sunday, May 30 with 32 vendors this year.
Prep work for the new Beach Patrol building continues and officials hope it will be ready to bid in June.

The Council endorsed efforts of the Atlantic City Jitney Association to transition its fleet of 190 jitneys from gas to electric power. They are seeking state and federal funding and are asking communities along their route (from Asbury Park to Cape May) to submit a letter of endorsement for the proposal. Mayor Judith Davies-Dunhour plans to send a letter of support.

Stormwater Management
Council passed Ordinance 1584 concerning stormwater management. It addresses flood control, groundwater recharge, as well as runoff, erosion, and pollutant reduction through the use of green infrastructure best practices and through non-structural stormwater management strategies. The ordinance applies to major developments, as defined in the measure.

Land Grading
Council also passed Ordinance 1586 which deals with grading property lots to form a slope that directs stormwater to the street. It establishes additional rules for grading and managing stormwater runoff within the Borough.

Storage of Floating Docks and Ramps
Council approved Ordinance 1585, permitting the storage of floating docks and ramps at the Borough Marina during the offseason.
